Crew Information
Captain: Mike Crisp
Captain Mike has travelled to around 65 countries, is known for his big smile and dry sense of humour, and is always pleased to teach and share his experiences with everyone on board!
First crossing the English Channel at 15, he’s now clocked up 30k miles exploring various parts of the world under sail. Hospitality has become second nature after many years working with old and young in leisure parks, restaurants, sailing schools and charter yachts. Mike has spent the last 8 summers sailing the Adriatic, and knows the coast as well as anyone.
A Chartered Engineer since 2010 and Yachtmaster qualified since 2013, Mike now strives to find the perfect balance between the two disciplines Sailing provides exploration, physical application and the chance to meet people from diverse backgrounds; while civil engineering provides technical challenge and the fulfilment of contributing to infrastructure and environmental improvement.
Mike's coastal engineering degree and watersport interests have developed an advanced scientific understanding of the marine environment; and he’s also a whizz with engines and machines, which serves him well when looking after the yacht’s equipment.
